There was a fire at our machine shop in Alajärvi on Wednesday afternoon (18.10.23). Thanks to a swift response, it was quickly extinguished before spreading.
There were no personal injuries. A few square metres of the roof and wall structure burned. That same day, we did some quick repairs so that the interior is protected from the weather.
Ultimately, the damage is relatively minor, and limited enough that the fire will not affect our production. We will be able to continue working at the machine shop as usual. The damage will therefore not affect our agreed deliveries or their schedules.
Our buildings underwent a fire inspection a week ago. But that’s no guarantee – something unexpected can always happen. The cause of the fire is unknown and is still being investigated.
